Colleen & James' Windy Coastal Engagement Session in Newport, Rhode Island

Colleen and James met each other while studying at RIT, just like we did. When Colleen reached out to us this past summer to talk about photographing her wedding in Cape Neddick Maine next September we were thrilled by the prospect of photographing another photographer. There’s something special about meeting up with folks with such a similar relationship origin story, and we are honored to have the opportunity to photograph these two again next year.

We have been wanting to photograph on the Rhode Island coast since we moved here in July, and Colleen and James agreed to brave the brutal November coastal winds in pursuit of beautiful light with us. Rhode Island’s coastal regions are harshly, uniquely beautiful in late autumn and deceptively cold. The warmth of the late evening sun did little to comfort us all as the salt air howled and kicked sand from the dunes. Amidst the gusts and the chilly temperatures, these two stuck with us through golden hour as we hopped around some of our favorite beaches in Newport.
