Veronica & Sam's Wedding Weekend at Echo Lake Inn in Ludlow, VT

When Veronica and Sam reached out to us in September of 2020 and described their wedding plans at the Echo Lake Inn in Ludlow, VT we knew the combination of place and people was going to be special. Having spent some time living and working together on an organic farm less than a half hour’s drive from the inn, these two farmers and writers knew the area well enough to invite all of their loved ones there to experience what southern Vermont has to offer. Their family and friends took over the inn for the weekend, free to roam the grounds and enjoy the basketball hoops, tennis courts, and of course access to Echo Lake for fishing and swimming. We had the pleasure of meeting up with them the day before the wedding for their rehearsal dinner, a clambake in the hazy summer evening air, which gave us the opportunity to meet everyone, see the lake in person, and eat some delicious food. Our Saturday started off with Sam and his groomsmen jumping into the lake before their wedding-day responsibilities beckoned, and we returned dockside later in the evening to bask in the stillness of blue hour with the two of them. The day was flush with intense emotion as these two families came together to celebrate their union. We wept at their exchange of vows during the ceremony, belly laughed during the toasts from family members, and found ourselves singing and dancing along to Blink182 on the dance floor as the night came to a close. We suppose at some point we’ll get used to the reality of weddings we’ve looked forward to for such a long time coming to pass, but we’re finding ourselves still very much mentally back in Ludlow, laughing and chatting with Veronica and Sam like old pals.
