Our approach to wedding photography is to be as genuine as possible to the moment and the mood of the day, and we articulate that with a combination of our documentary shooting style and our editing.

At the core of what we do, we are observers. Most of the wedding day we spend quietly observing the moments unfold between you and your loved ones, only making gentle suggestions based mostly on lighting and background in the space for moments like getting the dress on, or where to do your first look.

Our style is a mix of creative portraiture and photojournalism; in other words it is a combination of making photos with our couple inspired by our love of cinematic moments, and taking photos of all of the little and big emotional moments that happen throughout the entire day.

FAQs

What is your approach?

Our approach to weddings is roughly 80% fly-on-the-wall style observational documentary photos and 20% creative portraiture. For the most part we’ll blend into your wedding but we’re always looking for that good light to experiment with when we find it.

How do we get started working with you?

Go ahead and head over to our contact page and fill out our form to give us an idea of what you are planning! Once we receive that from you we typically respond within one business day. We’re super excited to get to know you more!

Will you both be photographing my wedding together, or will it just be one of you?

We work 100% of the time as a team. We both have a similar approach to how we photograph but subtle stylistic differences result in a complementary variety of photos in a relatively small window of time. We are equals in life and in work, and there’s no second shooter or assistant here, just two lead photographers!

What is required to book you?

We’re pretty easy! We require a 50% retainer to hold your wedding date returned to us along with the signed contract and you’re booked!

My wedding isn’t in this state or this country. Do you travel?

We love traveling to new places! While the majority of our work is on the east coast, we’ve photographed internationally and will go just about anywhere if you’d have us! We’ll travel within two hours of our home in Rhode Island free of charge, and any further than that we charge a travel fee to cover lodging, gas and food that scales depending on distance.

Definitely! We’re happy to send you an example of a wedding gallery that aligns with the amount of coverage you are looking for.

What’s an unplugged wedding and why do I care?

The main benefit of having an unplugged wedding where you have asked your guests to refrain from using their cell phones to take photo and video of your wedding ceremony is that their attention will be entirely on the two of you rather than getting the best shot. The fact that it allows us to better document your ceremony and create images where you can see your guests faces and reactions during your ceremony is nice too.

What can we do to make the most of our wedding day coverage with you?

We like to learn as much about one another as possible before the wedding day so that we can gain an understanding of what it is you both value most about wedding photography. We’re happy to help you plan as much as you’d like, taking the season into consideration, to utilize the best light in the best spots on your wedding day.

Do you think we should do x tradition?

More than ever before we have noticed couples choosing to make weddings more in line with what they want to do and less in line with what they feel they are supposed to do. We encourage our couples to do what feels right to them. There’s no one way to get married!

Where does your background in photography come from?

We both studied Fine Art Photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology, but were interested in photography in grade school and had parents who both dabbled in it themselves and encouraged our pursuit of the craft.

Does two photographers ever feel overwhelming or obtrusive?

In short, no. We try to be as unobtrusive as possible on the wedding day only sticking our heads in when needed, and feel that the more breathing room the better (for everyone!). If we’re ever photographing the same thing at the same time we’re always splitting the duties to get one view that’s closer up and one that’s further away so as to not overwhelm our subjects.

Can I have unedited versions of the images or do we get the RAW files?

We believe in the editing phase of our workflow as a key part of the larger process that results in our final product, and as such we do not offer RAW or unedited files. We do all of our editing in house and we never outsource this part of our process.

How many images do we get?

Each wedding is different, but we typically deliver on average 800-1200 photos depending on which package is booked. All of these images are fully edited, high resolution, and ready to print.

How and when will our images be delivered?

We always deliver a small preview of your images within a week of your wedding, and your final edited gallery will be delivered within 6-8 weeks by both a password protected online gallery with unlimited downloads that you can share with your family and friends, as well as a physical copy of the edited images mailed to you on a flash drive.

Are you LGBTQ+ allies?

Absolutely! We believe all love deserves to be loudly celebrated.
