Meghan & Rory's Wedding at Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA

Meg and Rory were made for one another. Although their relationship started in college as friends, the years drove them closer and closer together and culminated at the wedding they threw at Willowdale Estate last Sunday. Generations of wedding photos on the main hearth in the estate welcomed guests into the building, while beautifully curated gardens wrapped the ceremony site in a floral embrace that reached all the way to the roof of the building. The outdoor spaces, one flowing into the other, cultivated an atmosphere of togetherness and made it easy to get around and see everyone - perfect for the biggest family reunion we’ve seen in quite some time. While Meg’s family resides in the states the vast majority of Rory’s traveled all the way from Ireland just for this wedding. The odds of getting so many members of extended family from so far away together for this one event speaks to the love their families and friends have for them, and it was as clear as day to us that the love they have for their people is reciprocated tenfold.

We can only describe their mood that day as unbridled joy. They were, as Rory described it, itching to see one another - feeling incomplete without the other. As soon as they were both ready and saw each other for the first time that day they were inseparable. For two people like Meg and Rory do to meet one another, become friends, become more than friends, get engaged, and successfully hold a wedding these days is an astonishing feat, one about as rare as the opportunity presented by holding this wedding in the first place. The mashing of these families was so lovely to behold, and we could literally feel the love for the entire day. The way Meg poured affection over Rory’s sisters, the way Rory professed his feelings and vows to Meg during the ceremony, the way that Rory’s dad welcomed Meg into the family officially during the reception, all of it framed the story of Meg and Rory as one that perhaps everyone there knew would unfold exactly as it did eventually.
