Ada & Chris' Joyful Wedding at Bliss Ridge Farm in Moretown, VT

Ada and Chris met at an airport. Flirtatious looks were shared through the TSA checking line, invitations to sit next to one another were exchanged once on the same flight, and before too long their perfectly rom-com origin story became an incredibly rock solid relationship. When the pandemic hit they spent that first long winter writing together on Cape Cod at Chris’ family’s house, and their adjacent careers have since brought them from LA back to the east coast, now settling in Brooklyn together. It’s fitting that these two, Chris an actor/writer and Ada a screenwriter, would have such a classic story behind how they met, and the whimsy really just keeps coming the more you learn about them. Like us they are a goofy pair of people, and live to laugh at themselves and with those they choose to be around. Their friends and family all hum with the same jovial energy that Ada and Chris project out into the world, and seeing them in their element amongst loved ones after many phone calls and remote hellos was beautiful.

Ada is a Vermonter and bringing everyone in their shared life together up to Moretown, VT felt to her and Chris like the best way to celebrate. Bliss Ridge Farm is nestled, as the name suggests, right in a valley between two ridges smack in the middle of the Green Mountain range, and it’s both a working farm and get-away style venue complete with a gorgeous and cavernous main barn, walking paths that sprawl across the property, and literal treehouses for folks to stay on at the base of the nearest hill. It’s classic Vermont which means the sheer beauty of space is off the charts and boy was it fun to work here. Family and friends from all points in their lives descended onto the farm to take in the views, say hi to the cows, and watch Ada and Chris get married and throw a party that was quintessentially them: family style food (from Luke and team at The Hindquarter), cocktails in the open air, live music (courtesy of a red hot A House On Fire band), and a stomping dance floor packed with people. The energy these two give off is contagious, and between the four of us we could seldom stop laughing the day away amidst the stop-and-start rain and dramatic skies. This was a wedding that reminded us of why we got married in Vermont back in 2016, and getting to document this joy-filled day in such a beautiful setting was the rejuvenation we needed as we pass the half-way mark in our season.
