Taylor & Nick's Colorful Wedding at the Dye House in Providence, RI
It’s officially the start of our normal wedding season for 2025 and we’re glad to say that we kicked things off with a banger of a wedding about as close to home as we could have asked for. Taylor and Nick’s wedding at the Dye House just a few minutes from our apartment is one we’ve been looking forward to for what feels like forever. We first heard from them about a year ago thanks to our fave planner Courtney from Una Weddings which right off the bat was a huge green flag. Courtney has time and time again been by our side with some of our favorite weddings throughout the years and when Taylor and Nick told us she’d be helping them bring their vision for a smaller dinner party style wedding here in town to life we didn’t really need to hear anything else - we were on board. When we learned on our first call with them that not only do they live in Rhode Island but they’re also cat parents to an adorable tuxedo cat named Pepperoni we really had to contain our excitement.
The Dye House is a sweet little spot on the west side of Providence that previously we’d only photographed a tiny elopement at back in 2022. It’s a refurbed industrial feeling space in a historically industrial neighborhood with tons of natural light and lots of little nooks and crannies perfect for filling with your favorite people for a weekend. Taylor and Nick seemed nervous at first, like most people who spend what feels like an eternity planning a wedding are, to see things come to fruition. As the day progressed and the ceremony came to a close, the reality that they’d just officially gotten married hit and jubilation washed over them. The scary stuff was done, the formalities had finished, and it was time to enjoy an evening they’d worked so hard to realize. Before settling into the party we went for a quick stroll with them around the block to get some fresh air, explore a little bit, and slow down for a moment in the setting sunlight.
Heading back inside, deliciously beautiful food from Bites by Bre came out in large family style serving platters as tunes spun by the sonic magician Craig Harriman himself floated through the air. Sunlight poured through the lofted windows onto long tables packed with smiling faces and vibes were real good. Once dinner was through and some toasts had been shared, the dance floor opening up meant it was finally time to flex their meticulously crafted playlist and dance. This wedding felt so cozy, so intimate, and more than anything fun. It’s hard to describe in a way but some weddings have an energy about them that feels light, maybe even jovial, and between Taylor and Nick’s high spirits and roll with the punches attitude and their guests’ natural inclination to hoot, holler, and dance this day felt like the good time they’d hoped it would be from the start.
