Clare & Sean's Late Summer Wedding at Highfield Hall in Falmouth, MA

Clare and Sean’s wedding at the southern end of Cape Cod was a classically New England late summer day. The skies were clear and bright, the temperatures hovered in the low 70s, and a calm breeze kept things feeling comfortable. High school sweethearts, these two met in choir class and have spent nearly as much of their lives together as they have apart, and their wedding day felt like the product of having so much shared history. Neither of them seemed particularly nervous, just happy to be around their friends and excited to see one another for the first time that day. Once together they moved through the day weightlessly, lifted up by their people and celebrated simply for loving one another. Their theatre/choir teacher Kevin (who introduced them when they were 14) officiated their ceremony in a way that only he could, recounting their earliest memories and reflecting on their journey. Clare’s younger sister Raelyn endeavored and succeeded in conquering the floral requirements for a late summer wedding on the Cape, with equal parts grown and foraged blooms adorning the ceremony site and tablescapes. Clare, a books reporter, hand selected one hundred and thirty hard-cover novels for each and every guest while her grandmother hand embroidered the same number of cloth napkins for their place settings. Friends from their current home in NYC met their childhood Cape Cod friends, extended family from both sides shared stories and toasts across warmly lit tables at dinner, and world blending at multiple levels made this day feel incredibly wholesome. These two families and the greater community Clare and Sean have cultivated in various places and times in their lives truly came together to create an atmosphere of celebration that felt so full of care and love and getting to close out our summer on the Cape was a dream.
